Chief Engineers of HIMANK, GREF meets L-G Mathur
Chief Engineers of HIMANK and GREF met Lieutenant Governor RK Mathur on September 21 at Raj Niwas briefed about the work progress on Shinkula, Lachungla, and Taglangla tunnels.
Chief Engineer (P) Rohtang Tunnel VK Singh, Chief Engineer (P) HIMANK Brig. Arvinder Singh and Director (Tunnel) (P) HIMANK RS Rao were present.
Chief Engineer VK Singh apprised that the exploration process for the Shinkula tunnel has been completed and that the DPR will be finalized by December this year. He informed that the geology in the area is favorable for works.
Regarding Lachungla, the team informed that out of the total 15 boreholes, nine have been completed and that works are underway to complete the remaining six. Two alternate accesses have been zeroed in for the Tanglangla tunnel and more suitable access will be finalized post further geological survey.
The officers stated that the completion of the tunnel at Baralacha la first will ease the Shinkula and Lachungla projects and requested the intervention in initiating the project.
