Leh :
Rigzin Spalbar, Chief Executive Councilor, Leh had written a letter to NN Vohra, Governor J&K, for the immediate release of funds for flood-affected areas of Ladakh due to cloud burst and incessant rain.
The letter mentions that Nubra, Khalatse and Nyoma sub-division have been worst affected. The letter states, “The scale of destruction to the public properties, agricultural fields, standing crops and public infrastructures are more than that of 2010 flash flood, luckily there are few reported causalities.”
CEC mentions in the letter that he has been requesting the central and the state government to release the funds that are urgently needed for restoring the damages in the district, but they have turned deaf ear to the plea. He requested the Governor to intervene and make the fund release for Leh District an important priority of the State and Central government.
