CEC Leh inaugurates Kushok Bakula Rinpoche Legends Memorial Gallery
Paying rich tribute to the Architect of Modern Ladakh, 19th Kushok Bakula Rinpoche on his 17th Parinirvana Day, Tashi Gyalson, CEC, Hill Council, Leh inaugurated the Kushok Bakula Rinpoche Legends Memorial Gallery on November 4 at Council Secretariat.
The portraits of Kushok Bakula Rinpoche, Sonam Wangyal, Engineer Sonam Norboo, P. Namgyal, Engineer Sonam Dawa, Dr. Sonam Dawa Lonpo, Dorjey Motup, and three brave hearts Nawang, Dorjay, and Stobdan who were martyred during the Union Territory agitation in 1989 were displayed with their brief biography in the Memorial Gallery.
Tashi Gyalson appreciated the executive members of 5th LAHDC Leh headed by former CEC Gyal P. Wangyal who came up with the idea and established this Legends Memorial Gallery at the council.
He said, “Every citizen of Ladakh must visit this legends gallery especially students and youths to know about the real legends of Ladakh who struggled and sacrificed their life in achieving UT Status for Ladakh.”
He further added that it was 19th Kushok Bakula Rinpoche who dreamt of UT status for Ladakh which came real in 2019. It is because of the sacrifices of our legend leaders and brave hearts we are today living in new Ladakh with new hope.
MP Ladakh Jamyang Tsering Namgyal said that young students and the coming generation of Ladakh must know about the unparalleled contributions of Late KG Bakula Rinpoche and other legend leaders and inculcate their qualities.
