CEC launches 'MP JTN Cares Initiative' to fight COVID-19 in Ladakh
Gyal P. Wangyal, CEC, Hill Council, Leh launched 'MP JTN Cares Initiative' at Council Secretariat Leh today afternoon. Jamyang Tsering Namgyal, MP Ladakh joined the launching programme through video conference.
'MP JTN Cares Initiative' aimed to aware public about COVID-19 pandemic and information regarding Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Package. Besides a kit containing two bottles of 100 ml sanitizers, masks and pamphlet written both in Bhoti and English language highlighting the dos and don’ts will be delivered to every household which is under Covid-19 containment zones in Ladakh region and to the front line workers initially, "reads the press release.
Wangyal thanked Jamyang for his initiative to ensure the safety of each and every people of Ladakh from COVID-19.
Jamyang Tsering Namgyal said that UT Administration Ladakh and both the Hill Council of Leh and Kargil are doing their best to combat COVID-19 pandemic in Ladakh and said that this initiative of mine is to supplement the efforts of all the stakeholders in Ladakh in the fight against the pandemic.
"In the first phase around 2 lacs masks, 20,000 (100ml) sanitizers will be distributed in Covid-19 containment zones and front line workers in Ladakh. Besides, 5 Ltrs sanitizer with masks will also be delivered to all the 334 medical centers of Ladakh", said Jamyang.
Jamyang further said that the kit of mask and sanitizers will be delivered to all the households which are under Covid-19 containment zones and will be made available at the areas recommended by the medical department including tea stalls along the national highway when roads will open for traffic. The kit will also be delivered to about 2,000 police personals of Ladakh, Councillors of Hill Council, Leh and Kargil and all the govt. employees who are deployed in fight against COVID-19 and media persons.
Earlier, CEC handed over the kits to Executive Councillors for distribution in their respective villages which are under containment zones.
Councillors of Hill Council, Leh, workers of BJP Leh headed by President BJP Leh Dorjey Wangchuk were also present.
