CEC convenes meeting to discuss education measures in Leh district
Chairman/ CEC, LAHDC Leh, Tashi Gyalson convened a meeting with the representatives of the 17,000 ft foundation and discussed education measures in the schools of Leh district on December 27.
Deputy Chairman also EC Education, Tsering Angchuk; Chief Planning Officer, Leh; Chief Education Officer, Leh and representatives of the 17000 ft foundation attended the meeting.
The representatives of the 17,000 ft foundation apprised the CEC about establishing Digital Library in the form of a Digital learning lab (Digi lab) in the schools of Leh district which would help students in their studies supported by solar-powered digital learning. Also, deliberated on distributing Digi tablets in schools with an updated syllabus of the subjects.
CEC Gyalson appreciated the noble initiatives of the foundation. He instructed the concerned departments to frame a list of schools in each constituency of the councillors and initiate the project in a phased manner covering all the constituencies. He emphasized targeting the primary level schools at the beginning and identifying a suitable local name for the said project.
Enquiring the status of smart classes in the district, CEC instructed on establishing the main server centre in Leh that would connect to schools in other villages. He added that this initiative would lessen the academic loss accrued to the absence of teachers. Likewise, he emphasized organising online classes in the schools by the experts of various fields. CEC reiterated the phased-wise execution of such projects and instructed the concerned departments to form a committee for the same.
