Capacity building programme for ASHA and Anganwadi workers held
The District Hub for Empowerment of Women, Mission Shakti, and the Department of Social and Tribal Welfare, UT Ladakh, hosted a capacity-building program for ASHA and Anganwadi workers on May 11.
The focus of the program was to empower Accredited Social Health Activist (ASHA) workers and Anganwadi workers with enhanced understanding and proficiency in reproductive health and hygiene.
Consultant Gynecologist, Dr. Aysha Malo from SNM Hospital, served as the resource person. She covered various topics ranging from the fundamental anatomy of both female and male reproductive systems to menstrual health and hygiene, pregnancy, cervical cancer, vaccines, and sexually transmitted diseases.
This was followed by a question and answer session which allowed participants to seek clarification and deepen their understanding of the topics discussed.
Gender Specialist, Kunzang Angmo, welcomed all participants and expressed gratitude for their active participation. Her remarks highlighted the spirit of collaboration and empowerment that underscored the program's objectives.
