One-day awareness programme on menstrual health and hygiene for adolescent girls was held at Government Higher Secondary School Lankerchey, Kargil on December 3.

Principal, Government Higher Secondary School, Lankerchey, Sadiq Ali; Dr. Nasreen Fatima, Gynaecologist obstetrician, CHC Sankoo, teaching staff, and girl students were present.

Resource Person Dr. Nasreen Fatima, Gynaecologist obstetrician of Community Health Center, Sankoo spoke about the importance and ways to maintain personal hygiene specially during periods to avoid infections.

She said menstruation only becomes a problem when people refuse to regard it as a normal function of the female human body.

She further delivered an awareness lecture and emphasized the importance of menstruation health rights as a human right issue through a powerpoint presentation.
