Ashok Leyland celebrates 30 years association with Indian Army
To commemorate Rajat Jayanti of Kargil Vijay Diwas and 75 years of raising Ashok Leyland along with 30 years association with the Indian Army, a ‘Manzil ka Safar’ rally was organised by Ashok Leyland.
The rally was flagged off from Kanyakumari on Kargil Vijay Diwas and culminated at Leh on August 25.
Felicitation ceremony for 26 Veer Naris, 4 Veer Mata’s and 70 War Heroes was also organised under the aegis of Fire and Fury Corps at Rinchen Auditorium.
The rally comprising three ‘Stallion 4x4 Workhorse’ vehicles was flagged in at Leh by the General Officer Commanding, Leh Sub Area. These vehicles were equipped with pictorial depictions of the Kargil War and traversed through the length and breadth of the country finally culminating at Leh, to honour the indomitable spirit and courage of our ‘Bravehearts’ during Operation Vijay. The event also highlighted the symbiotic relationship shared between the Indian Army and Ashok Leyland over the last three decades.
