Animal Husbandry Department organises Mobile Veterinary healthcare/outreach program The camp will be carried out every 2nd and 4th week of the month
Animal Husbandry Department, Leh organised a Mobile Veterinary health care outreach program and health/ awareness camps in the Khaltse and Nyoma blocks of the Leh district on June 26.
The camps aimed to provide essential healthcare services to animals and create awareness among the public about livestock diseases, livestock management, and departmental schemes.
A two-day veterinary health camp was also conducted in the villages of Lamayuru and Leh Dho on June 23 and 24. During the camps, 75 clinical cases were addressed, and provided with the necessary treatment and care. Similarly, a total of 27 pregnancy diagnoses/ fertility check-ups were done along with 11 KCC loans were also processed.
Further, another two-day camp was conducted in Tsaga and Hanle villages on June 20 and 21 during which 13 major surgeries were performed on the equines, and 14 castrations were carried out in cattle.
Additionally, 30 cases in cattle were addressed, which included issues such as prolapse, mastitis, lameness, parasitic infestation, and wild animal attacks.
Supplements and first aid kits were also distributed during the camps.
The Mobile Veterinary Healthcare/ outreach program is an ongoing initiative and will be conducted during the second and fourth week of every month.
