A K Sahu launches online teacher training programme ‘NISHTHA’
Commissioner/Secretary School Education, UT Ladakh, AK Sahu virtually inaugurated and dedicated the app ‘National Initiative for School Heads’ and Teachers’ Holistic Advancement’ (NISHTHA) to the teaching community of Ladakh on December 11.
‘NISHTHA’ is a capacity-building programme for improving the quality of school education through integrated teacher training. It aims to build competencies among all the teachers and school principals at the elementary stage.
The programme is a first of its kind launched by NCERT supported by the Ministry of Education. Around 4122 elementary teachers registered themselves till now using the DIKSHA android app. The teachers will go through 18 modules which will be available from December 12 for UT Ladakh.
Director School Education Department, Ladakh, Mohd. Mumtaz Ali, team DIKSHA for UT Ladakh, Ministry of Education GoI headed by Ravi Kumar VL, Chief Education Officers of Leh and Kargil, Principal District Institute for Education and Training (DIET) Leh/Kargil, and State/District Nodal officers NISHTHA Leh and Kargil were also virtually present.
The inaugural ceremony was also attended by the trainee teachers from both districts.
