75 Bn. CRPF organises free medical camp in Alchi
More than 200 patients were checked along with free medicine distribution during a medical camp organised by 75 Battalion CRPF under Civic Action Programme on March 26 in Alchi.
Rigzin Angmo, Security Incharge CRPF, Leh sharing about the event said, “Civic Action Programme covers a wide range of areas like - sports, ration, education, and health, etc. This camp is related to health and in this medical camp we had arranged two doctors and a dentist, and all the three are female doctors”.
She said that most of the patients were of old age with BP and joint pain issues.
“Our target is to reach the unreached and we are happy that the medical camp was carried out very successfully. I would like to thank the Sarpanch and Panch of the village for their cooperation”, she added.
Jayasree Singh (CMO 75 Bn, CRPF) said, “This program is conducted all over the country by the CRPF every year. In Ladakh, our main aim is to cover the villages which are located far away from the town, where people could not avail proper medical facilities. Therefore today we are at Alchi, which is almost 65-70 km away from Leh town. As per our expectations, most of the patients were aged group and women as they remain in the villages, but the males and the young people get an opportunity to do their medical checkup at Leh. We have brought medicines of cost more than one lakh rupees with us which were distributed free of cost.”
Sonam Dolma, Sarpanch Achi, said thanked CRPF for organising this medical camp. She said that the camp was very helpful and medicines were distributed free of cost.
Expressing gratitude, Tsering Stobdan, Panch Alchi, said, “Most of our aged people are not able to go to the district hospital for their medical checkup, but today the team of CRPF visited our village and did a free medical checkup and distributed free medicines and we are very thankful to them.”
Patients from different age groups took advantage of the camp. Blood pressure and sugar test were also done. While patients with the serious condition were referred to the SNM Hospital.
