5th LAHDC convenes review meeting in Nyoma for the first time

\r\n Going one step forward towards decentralization of power, the LAHDC Leh for the first time convened a review meeting of 5th LAHDC Leh on September 6 at Nyoma, Changthang. \r\n

\r\n\r\n
\r\nBeside decentralization of power, the meeting aimed to reach out and understand the real problems of people living far-off from the district headquarters.\r\n
\r\n\r\n
\r\n
\r\n\r\n
\r\nDr. Sonam Dawa, CEC said that the main aim of the meeting was to concentrate on the developmental works and to modify the plan to draw an optimum advantage from the schemes. \r\n
\r\n\r\nHe further said that 50% of the funds have already been released on time and the remaining funds will be released only after the expenditure of the released funds.\r\n
\r\n\r\n \r\n
\r\n\r\nIn the meeting, on-going developmental schemes under District Plan, and Border Area Development Programme (BADP) of various departments like Irrigation & Flood Control, Road & buildings, Rural, Agriculture, Health, Education, Power, Sheep, Animal Husbandry, Forest, Handicraft and others were discussed in detail.\r\n

\r\nWhile discussing Agricultural sector of Changthang area, CEC urged upon the officers to encourage people to plant green vegetables on large-scale keeping in mind the prevailing climatic and soil conditions. He further gave directions to cooperate with Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) that are conducting research in growing different types of vegetables.\r\n

\r\nIt was also decided in the meeting to curb the small projects and invest them in the completion of one larger project in the greater interest of the people.\r\n

\r\n\r\n
\r\nCEC then gave directions to submit all detailed report about command area to the concerned SDM for further inclusion in the Revenue records. In order to complete the incomplete works under BADP, CEC gave directions to Ex en PWD Nyoma to submit any liabilities under BADP to the Council.\r\n

\r\nIn order to generate income from milk, CEC gave directions to Animal Husbandry Department to stress on enhancing milk production and yak cheese. Similarly, in order to strengthen nomads and boost their livelihood, CEC gave directions to Sheep Husbandry to bring about useful schemes. \r\n
\r\n\r\n \r\n
\r\n\r\nTalking about the Education Sector, Councillors demanded filling up of various posts of lecturer at Higher Secondary School, Nyoma and other Government schools. CEC urged them to continue with the internal arrangement till the filling up of the posts in the interest of the students.\r\n

\r\nLooking at the deteriorating condition of the rations store buildings, CEC gave directions to the SDM to submit a detailed report for their repair and maintenance.\r\n
