Ten-day Ice hockey coaching camp for specially-abled children concludes

A ten-day Special Ice Hockey coaching camp for the differently abled children of Leh organized by District Police Leh in collaboration with Health Department and Health Inc concluded on January 17 at New Police Complex, Agling, Leh.

Dy. High Commissioner, Canadian High Commission, New Delhi Soyoung Park was the chief guest on the occasion while Sargun Shukla, SSP, Leh was present as guest of honor.

The camp concluded with an Ice Hockey exhibition match between Canadian Embassy team and J&K Police team whereas an exhibition match was also played with the physically challenged person.
  
The Canadian Embassy team led by the world-renowned Ice-Hockey player, Hayley Wickenheiser who represented Canada at Winter Olympics for five times, capturing four Gold and one Silver medals enthralled the audience on the occasion.

Sargun Shukla, SSP expressed happiness to be a facilitator of this special camp and thanked everyone who contributed in conducting the camp successfully.

She highly appreciated the tireless endeavor of Cynthia Hunt and Stanzin Losal, ASP, Leh who supervised the 10-days camp. She expressed her special thanks to Dr. Motup Dorjay, CMO, Leh for their support.

She said that J&K Police is committed to promoting sports among youths of state and engaging special persons gives a unique experience to the district police Leh.

“Special persons are blessed with special abilities and skills, and stressed on creating a favorable environment for special children in the society”, she added.
