A District-Level Science and Mathematics Quiz Competition 2025 for both senior and junior categories were held at the Exhibition Hall of DIET Leh on October 27.

The programme was jointly organized by DIET Leh and IISER Pune with the aim of promoting learning through fun and interactive activities while fostering healthy competition among students.

A total of 12 teams from six zones of Leh district—Leh, Kharu, Nyoma, Khaltse, Nubra, and Durbuk—participated in the event. Each zone fielded one team in the junior and one in the senior category, with each team accompanied by a teacher.

In the junior category, the first prize was won by Govt. Middle School, Tharuk, the second prize by KGBV School, Nyoma, and the third prize by Govt. Middle School, Yulchung. The winners received mementos and cash prizes of ₹15,000, ₹10,000, and ₹5,000, respectively.

In the senior category, the first prize went to Govt. Higher Secondary School, Diskit (Nubra), the second prize to Govt. High School, Skalzangling, and the third prize to Govt. Higher Secondary School, Skurbuchan. All winning teams were awarded mementos and cash prizes of ₹15,000, ₹10,000, and ₹5,000, respectively.

CEO Leh, Deldan Angmo emphasized the importance of organizing more such initiatives to inspire scientific curiosity among students. She appreciated the dedicated efforts of DIET Leh and IISER Pune and congratulated all the winners. Principal DIET Kargil and Mohd Taqi from IISER Pune also addressed the gathering and extended their congratulations to the participants.

The event was graced by Sonam Dorje Namgyal, Principal DIET Kargil; Mirza Mehdi, Principal DIET Leh; and Tsering Yangdol, HOD DIET Leh. Expert faculty members from IISER Pune,  Mohd Taqi and  Bharat, were also present.
