Stanzin Norgays on way to becoming a commissioned officer Joined Ladakh Scouts as a recruit

Setting an example for many, Rifleman Stanzin Norgays became first other rank of 1st Battalion Ladakh Scouts Regiment to get selected in Army Cadet College on a way to become a commissioned officer in Indian Army. 

Hailing from Skurbuchan village, he completed his primary schooling from Skurbuchan and secondary education from Information Technology Institute for Tribes of India, Dehradun. Later, he joined Indian Army as a recruit.  He appeared in ACC exam during his recruit training in which he failed with a very low margin.

After joining the unit, 1st Battalion of Ladakh Scouts he met his Commanding Officer Col Amit Kotnala, the man behind his success. Col Amit Kotnala recognized the potential of the young boy and groomed him up for training and Service Selection Board interview.
