The prize distribution ceremony for the District-Level Kala Utsav 2025, Leh was held on October 25 at the DIET Hall, Leh, where students were felicitated by Bhanu Prabha, Administrative Secretary, School Education Department (SED), UT Ladakh, and Tashi Dolma, Director, SED, UT Ladakh. The event was attended by Deldan Angmo, Chief Education Officer, Leh, and Mirza Mehdi, Principal, DIET Leh.

The ceremony featured a vibrant cultural group dance and a solo musical performance, offering glimpses of the diverse artistic presentations showcased during the day. Prizes were awarded across various categories, including storytelling, drama, group dance, solo singing, and visual arts.

In their addresses, the Administrative Secretary and the Director commended the students for creatively representing Ladakh’s rich culture and encouraged them to strive for excellence at the national level. The Administrative Secretary emphasized the Department’s commitment to nurturing students’ holistic development — fostering not only academic excellence but also talent in co-curricular activities such as dance, music, and other creative fields. She further noted that mentors and judges have been requested to provide additional guidance to enhance students’ preparations for national-level competitions.

The Director, SED, UT Ladakh, highlighted that teachers, headmasters, and principals have been instructed to identify talented students early on so that they can be supported by trained music and dance teachers throughout their schooling, helping them balance academic and artistic growth.

Similarly, winners from the District-Level Kala Utsav, Kargil will compete with those from Leh, and the selected UT-level champions will go on to represent Ladakh at the National Kala Utsav, competing alongside participants from other States and Union Territories
