Segregation plant shed inaugurated in Kargil

Kargil :
A segregation shed under Solid Liquid Waste Management Scheme of Swachh Bharat Mission Gramin was inaugurated by Baseer ul Haq Choudhary, DC, Kargil on October 10 at Ringmospang. 
 
Shabir Hussain, District Panchayat Officer Kargil and other concerned officers were also present on the occasion. 
 
The Deputy Commissioner said that with the establishment of the segregation shed which has come up for the first time in the history of Kargil, waste will be segregated for recycling to turn into a resource instead of being dumped or burnt. He further said that to accomplish this, door to door collection of waste would be done in areas taken up under the scheme.
 
The DC further said that for the project to be successful people must segregate their waste into dry and wet waste at the source itself before it is brought to the segregation shed.
 
Baseer said that the administration will extend help to the Rural Development Department and the private operators to ensure smooth functioning of the segregation shed.
 
Later, DC also flagged off vehicles from the segregation shed for the door to door collection of waste from the areas taken up under the scheme.
 
Meanwhile, DC has sought the cooperation of the general public to work proactively towards ensuring the cleanliness and sanitation of their home and surroundings to lead a healthy and happy life.
