A total of 42 sheep and goats including 29 pashmina goats and 13 sheep was attacked and killed by a Lynx ( Ee) during the intervening night of March 30 in Kherapullu, Kargyam.

The Lynx entered the livestock shed owned by Padma Tsering S/o Rinchen Dorjay.
Another case was also reported from Yourgo village on March 30 when a wolf attacked 52 pashmina goat kids of Lobzang Dadul S/o Late Motup Dorjay. Only two kids managed to survive.

Konchok Stanzin, EC Wildlife directed Wildlife Warden Leh to assess the livestock loss of goat rearers of both Kargyam and Yourgo villages and ensure timely compensation.

Wildlife team caught the Lynx which will be released back into the wild after few days. 
On March 28, a Snow leopard kills 39 sheep/goats and two cows of Stanzin Namgyal S/o Morup Tashi R/o Ronjuk Khardong.

Konchok Stanzin also directed Wildlife Warden Leh to compensate the farmer.
