PM Shri HSS Pashkum set for transformation with ₹6.22 crore grant for CBSE-level infrastructure

In a major boost to educational infrastructure in Kargil district, ₹6.22 crore has been sanctioned under the Special Development Plan (SDP) for the development of CBSE-standard facilities at PM Shri Government Higher Secondary School (HSS) Pashkum.
Separate funds have also been approved for clearing existing liabilities related to the completion of the school’s Multipurpose Hall, ensuring the timely realization of a long-pending project.
This significant allocation marks a transformative milestone for HSS Pashkum, which currently operates from an upgraded high school building. The new infrastructure will bring the institution in line with national CBSE norms, substantially improving the academic experience, infrastructure quality, and learning environment for students in this remote region.
The Principal, staff members, and School Management and Development Committee (SMDC) of HSS Pashkum extended heartfelt gratitude to, Zakir Hussain, Executive Councillor for Education, LAHDC Kargil; Kacho Feroz, Executive Councillor for Rural Development and Tourism, and Councillor, Pashkum Constituency; Bhanu Prabha, Secretary, School Education, UT Ladakh; and Tashi Dolma, Director, School Education, UT Ladakh for their steadfast support, timely intervention, and commitment to strengthening educational infrastructure across Ladakh.
Additionally, the installation of an independent 64 KV transformer for the school—facilitated through the efforts of EC Zakir Hussain—will ensure an uninterrupted power supply, supporting both academic and administrative activities.
These developments mark a new chapter for HSS Pashkum, with the school community expressing optimism that such strategic investments will promote empowered learning, lead to better student outcomes, and contribute meaningfully to the holistic development of the region.
