B-3 helicopter services were inaugurated at Diskit in Nubra on November 16, marking a significant step towards enhancing regional connectivity, promoting tourism and strengthening emergency response services through subsidized fares.

The inauguration ceremony was held in the presence of Sub-Divisional Magistrate Nubra, Mukul Beniwal, IAS; Station House Officer Meraj Giri; and Naib Tehsildar Habibullah, along with other officials.

Soon after the commencement of operations, the helicopter service was pressed into action for a medical emergency. A patient from Hunder was successfully airlifted to Leh for advanced medical treatment, underscoring the vital role of the B-3 helicopter service in providing timely emergency support to residents of remote and high-altitude areas.

The initiative is expected to bring significant benefits to local residents by improving access to essential services, boosting tourism and facilitating prompt medical evacuations during critical situations.
