One more person from Chuchot tests Covid-19 positive DM releases order for mandatory wearing of mask at public places

One more person from Chuchot Yokma has been tested positive for COVID-19 on April 9. 

"Out of total 9 samples of COVID-19 results received from NCDC New Delhi, one more person from Chushot Yokma has been tested positive. This person has a travel history to Iran and the patient was immediately shifted to the dedicated COVID-19 Mahabodhi Karuna Charitable Hospital at Choglamsar," said Rigzin Samphel, Commissioner/Secretary Health in a press conference today.

Rigzin Samphel appeals to the general public that those people, who have come in contact with the new positive case person, must get themselves registered at the block or District Hospitals and get examined without any fear. 

He further appeals that no one should hide any symptom regarding the COVID-19 which would prove fatal to the self/ family and society as a whole.

“After receiving of a positive case from Chuchot Yokma, District Administration has expanded the containment area and barred the entry/ exit of the public under the containment area and administration will strictly monitor the protocol laid by the World Health Organization”, said Rigzin Samphel.   

Talking about the opening of Zojila pass, Samphel stated that the Zojila would be opened in coming days for transportation of essential commodities in a controlled manner.                                                                                                      
“Three inmates from quarantine in health facility were discharged by Nodal Officer from quarantine centre Kargil after completing 14 days quarantine period and were advised for further 14 days surveillance by concerned BMO,” reads the Media Bulletin issued by the Directorate of Health Service of UT Ladakh.

Chairman DDMA/District Magistrate Leh Ladakh released an order yesterday stating mandatory wearing of the mask at public places as a measure to contain the spread of COVID-19.
