One month skill development training on vermicompost held in Stakna

A total of 21 candidates including farmers and youths of Leh district took part in one month skill development training on Vermicompost from October 25 at High Mountain Arid Agriculture Research Institute of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences & Technology of Kashmir, Stakna, Leh.

Dr. F. D Sheikh, I/C Associate Director Research, HMAARI in presence of all the scientific staff of HMAARI, Leh inaugurated the training programme. The programme was sponsored by Directorate of Arecanut and Spices Development (DASD) through Agriculture skill council of India (ASCI).

Dr. F. D Sheikh talked about the importance of the training as a source of income for unemployed youth & progressive farmers of Ladakh.

Dr. Jigmet Yangchan, Course instructor of Vermicompost producer explained the trainees about the purpose of providing this training among the farmers and youths. She also talked about its importance and utility in the future.
