The 16th National Voters’ Day was observed at Zanskar sub-division through a meaningful programme organised by the Assistant Electoral Registration Officer (AERO), Zanskar. Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Zanskar, Omkar Ranjinder Gundage (IAS), attended the event as the chief guest. The programme commenced with the National Anthem.

The event was attended by heads of departments of the sub-division, Booth Level Officers (BLOs), voters, and students from various schools. A quiz competition was organised for students, in which HSS Phey emerged as the winner. Prizes were awarded to all participating teams as well as first-time voters.

Addressing the gathering, the chief guest highlighted the importance of voting and encouraged citizens to actively participate in the democratic process.

The vote of thanks was delivered by AERO Zanskar, Mohd Hassan, who also emphasised the crucial role played by Booth Level Officers in strengthening the electoral system.

The programme concluded with prize distribution by the chief guest, recognising quiz winners, participants and BLOs.
