MP Ladakh met DG ITBP, discusses border issues

Jamyang Tsering Namgyal, MP Ladakh discussed various issues of the region with DS Deswal, Director General, Indo Tibetan Border Police on February 11 at ITBP Headquarter.

He discussed about the transfer of Ladakhi personnel serving in SSB to ITBP and installation of mobile tower and restoration of DSPTs at ITBP posts in border areas. Both of them decided to pursue with Ministry of Home Affairs jointly.

Talking about the issues of pasture lands and hassle-free movement of a local nomad for grassing, it was decided to allow local nomads residing at Indo-Tibet border in Ladakh to use their ancestral pasture lands without any hassle and utilization of BADP funds more meaningfully to develop border villages. 

JTN put forth the demand of giving preference to the youths of border village during ITBP recruitment and early sanction of transmission line project for border areas etc. He also highlighted the promotion of Ice Hockey by ITBP and sought training for local youth in various sports activities.

Jamyang further appreciated the activities for social developments been carried out by ITBP in Ladakh along with border security.
