Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises to assist young entrepreneurs of Ladakh

To encourage youth for starting their own enterprises with the help of various government schemes a meeting was held under Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Government of India on September 19 at Divisional Commissioner Office.

B. Srinivas, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Government of India; Saugat Biswas, Divisional Commissioner Ladakh; Preeta Verma, CEO KVIC; Moses Kunzang, ADDC Leh;  officers and officials of KVIC, KVIB, DIC, bankers of Leh district were present in the meeting.

B. Srinivas said that young minds, their skill, energy, and drive must be harvested and invested in for development of the region by providing them with opportunities to start with their own enterprises through various schemes of GoI.

He said that various schemes should reach every interested prospect and every effort must be made to sanction every single application ruling out any minor formalities. 

With the guarantee of 75% coverage on various loan schemes, government stresses on the development of the budding entrepreneurs and therefore no beneficiary should be left out, he added.

B. Srinivas stressed upon reaching every interested individual through an intensive workshop on schemes like PMEGP, REGP, Credit Guarantee Fund Trust for Micro and Small Enterprises (CGTMSE), Interest Subversive Scheme (ISS), Scheme of Fund for Regeneration of Traditional Industries (SFURTI).

Saugat Biswas requested B. Srinivas to conduct workshops in both the districts which would result in employment generation as well as skill development of the youths in particular along with economic and community development as a whole.

Baseer-ul-Haq  Chaudhary, Deputy Commissioner, Kargil who was connected with the meeting via video conferencing, also appealed Joint Secretary to conduct such workshop in Kargil district also where people are showing equal interest in various schemes of GoI.

Noticing the varied performances of banks, B. Srinivas urged upon all the banks to help the entrepreneurs. He stressed upon banks like SBI and PNB for their less active role in this direction to come forward in building a healthy nation.
