Meeting held to address water issues in Leh

To address the water shortage issue and ensure safe drinking water facility, a meeting was convened by Dorjey Motup, CEC on July 18 in Leh. 

Discussion on the issues and problems regarding proper functioning of water supply schemes in the district was carried out.  Also, the permanent and temporary solutions were outlined.

Dorjey Motup directed engineers to pacethe on-going schemes and ensure availability of drinking water to the public especially in schools. 

DorjeyMotup also inspected and reviewed the work progress on Choglamsar-Hemis road executed under CRF (Central Reserve Fund)at an estimated cost of ₹19 crores. Also, access the work progress of approach RCC (Reinforced Cement Concrete) Bridge to Shashi Bridge in Shey. 

The engineers were instructed to pace up the work of road and bridge construction for timely completion.

He along with Gyal P Wangyal, EC Sports and engineers inspected open stadium with youth hostel near Spituk at an estimated cost of ₹22 crores and indoor stadium opposite Council Secretariat estimated cost of ₹ 8 crores.

Strict instructions were given to the engineers and contractors to speed up their work and complete it at the earliest possible.
