Market checking squad seizes stale food items in Kargil

KARGIL :
A market checking squad inspected the markets from Baroo to Islamia School Chowk and adjoining areas on May 17 in Kargil.

A huge quantity of stale fruit, bakery, ice cream and other food items seized and destroyed on the spot. Also, a fine worth ₹44,000 was imposed upon the shopkeepers for violating Food Safety and Standards Act 2006 and Essential Commodities Act. 

As per the directions of Vikas Kundal, DC, Kargil, the market checking squad comprising officers from Health, Sheep Husbandry and Police Department carried out the task. The team was headed by Assistant Director FCS&CA and Naib Tehsildar, Kargil.
