Malpak Development Organisation celebrates birth centenary of 19th Bakula Rinpoche

The birth centenary of 19th Gyaltras Bakula Rinpoche was celebrated with great enthusiasm by Malpak Development Organisation (MOD) Leh on May 18 at Malpak Complex, Leh.

Chhering Dorje, Minister for Cooperatives and Ladakh affairs was the chief guest and Thupstan Chhewang, MP, Ladakh was the guest of honour.
 
Chhering Dorjay said, “The celebration of Kushok Bakula Rinpoche birth centenary at all levels has made the youths aware of his great contribution. It is important for us to walk on the path lead by Kushok Bakula Rinpoche”.

“Bakula Rinpoche is an inspiration for the entire political leader to work for the betterment of Ladakh”, he added.

Thupstan Chhewang said, “The birth centenary is not only celebrated in Ladakh but in many other parts of India, Bhutan and Mongolia. This should be carried out in the future also so as to make the young generation aware of Kushok Bakula’s work and contribution towards the society. We as a Ladakhi need to inculcate his teaching seriously and follow his path for the development of Ladakh”. 

“Along with the development we should keep our identity and culture intact", he added.

Dorjay Mutup CEC stressed upon people to take the responsibility of carrying forward the Kushok Bakula’s good work.” 

Briefing about the life of Kushok Bakula Rinpoche, Ven. Lobzang Tsering said, “Whatever we are today is because of his contribution. We should follow his teachings to keep our identity and stay united.”

Tsewang Thinles, President LBA, Tsering Samphel, President District Congress Committee and Ven. Lobzang Nyantak also spoke on the occasion. 
 
A sketch competition was also organised where students from different schools participated.

Stanzin Thinles and Stanzin Gyalson from Boys Higher Secondary School bagged first and second position, respectively. Jigmet Skeddon from Lamdon Model Senior Secondary School Leh bagged the third position.
