Lt. Governor Kavinder Gupta reviews security; commends citizens and administration for restoring peace

Reflecting a complete return to peace and stability, the Union Territory of Ladakh has restored full normalcy, with uninterrupted internet services, the smooth functioning of educational institutions, the resumption of public transport, and the revival of civic activities. All restrictions have been lifted in view of the people’s cooperation and responsible conduct.

Chairing a high-level security review meeting on October 9, Lieutenant Governor Kavinder Gupta expressed satisfaction over the prevailing calm across Ladakh. He lauded the collective efforts of the civil and police administration, security forces, and citizens in maintaining peace and harmony.

“The people of Ladakh have demonstrated remarkable patience, unity, and maturity during recent challenging times,” said the Lt. Governor. “Their cooperation has been instrumental in restoring normal life swiftly. This stability reflects the people’s trust in the administration’s commitment to ensuring safety, stability, and inclusive growth.”

Highlighting the deep-rooted patriotism of Ladakh’s citizens, Kavinder Gupta stated, “Ladakhis are among the most patriotic citizens of our nation, always standing shoulder to shoulder with the rest of the country in safeguarding national interests.”

The Lt. Governor urged people to continue supporting Ladakh’s development journey, calling upon all sections of society to work together with renewed energy for the region’s progress and prosperity. He reiterated the administration’s focus on equitable growth across sectors — including education, health, infrastructure, and employment — with special emphasis on youth empowerment and sustainable tourism.

He further assured that the administration remains dedicated to addressing public concerns through transparent and people-centric governance.

Kavinder Gupta also urged citizens to remain vigilant, uphold law and order, and actively participate in ongoing developmental initiatives to ensure a secure and prosperous future for Ladakh.

The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Dr. Pawan Kotwal; Director General of Police Dr. S.D. Singh Jamwal; DIG, CRPF, P.R. Jambolkar; Deputy Commissioner Leh; Senior Superintendent of Police Leh; CO 79 Battalion Sanjay Kumar; and other senior officials.

The Lt. Governor directed officials to maintain close coordination and heightened vigilance to sustain the peaceful environment and ensure continued public convenience across the Union Territory.
