Leh celebrates Digital India Anniversary

As part of Digital India Anniversary celebration, District Administration in coordination with NIC Leh organised a workshop cum event on July 2 at DC office Conference hall. 

Digital India Anniversary is celebrated to showcase the success stories/achievements and progress made in four years since the launch of the Digital India initiative on July 1, 2015.
 
A brief presentation on Digital India initiatives viz. Digi Locker, Jeevan Pramaan, BHIM UPI, Umang, My Gov, etc. have been presented giving an overview of Digital India. The importance of promoting e-governance was also highlighted.

Later, the event was also organised in Govt. Boys Higher Secondary School, Leh in coordination with the Common Service Centre (CSC).

It was highlighted that new generation has to be essentially computer literate in order to be relevant in the new development trend and mentioned that our country is fast moving in the e-governance regime wherein the public services are delivered electronically.

Principal, Govt. Boys Higher Secondary School requested NIC and CSC to conduct more such events in the field of Information Technology. He said that this will help in spreading awareness to the people about Govt. schemes and services.
