Awareness program on various Central and State Government schemes and free legal services provided by District Legal Services Authority was convened on February 8 in Tashi Gatsal, Choglamsar.

The day was organised by District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Leh in collaboration with Social Welfare Office and ICDS Department Leh.

Spalzes Angmo, Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Leh emphasized the activities of DLSA with regard to Alternate Dispute Resolution (ADR) and Lok Adalat.
 
She further requested the participants to take advantages of free legal services provided under Legal Services Authority Act. 

Tashi Chosdol, District Social Officer and Shakela Bano, CDPO, Leh highlighted the benefits provided by the respective offices under different welfare schemes of State and Central government. They mentioned schemes such as  Indira Gandhi National widow pension scheme (IGNWPS), Indira Gandhi National Disability pension scheme (IGNDPS), Indira Gandhi National old age pension scheme (IGNOAPS) and Integrated Social Security scheme (ISSS). 

Large numbers of participants from surrounding neighbors of Tashi Gatsal, Solar Colony and Sonam Burmaling of Choglamsar took part.  Many women actively participated in the interaction 

Earlier, the same awareness program was also carried out in Rambirpur Thiksey on February 4.
