Legal aid clinic inaugrated in Shargole

A legal aid clinic was inaugurated by Sanjiv Kumar Bhagat, Principal District, and Session Judge also Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Kargil on May 8 in Shargole, Kargil.

Sanjiv Kumar Bhagat said that the Legal aid clinic is started to provide legal support to the local population of the area at doorsteps. It also aims to extend the benefit of Lok Adalat mediation and other alternative dispute resolution measures.

He highlighted the role of Para Legal Volunteers (PLVs) in the justice delivery system in rural areas and urged upon people to take full benefit of the services available through the Legal Aid Clinic.

He suggested organising legal awareness programmes in the remotest areas of the district in near future. This will make people aware of various schemes of the Government for the welfare of the poor and needy.

To the difficulties and grievances highlighted by the people,  he assured speedy redressal.

Spalzes Angmo, Chief Judicial Magistrate, Kargil, Khadim Hussain, President, Bar Association, Kargil, Haji Muhammad Ali, Councillor, Shargole,  advocates of Bar Association, Lambardars, prominent citizens, Para Legal Volunteers (PLVs) and local people were present on the occasion.
