Ladakh Farmers and Producers Cooperative Ltd. meeting held

The first Project Monitoring Committee (PMC) meeting of Ladakh Farmers and Producers Cooperative Ltd.(LFPCL) Ranbirpur was convened by Dorjey Motup, CEC on July 24 at Council Secretariat, Leh. 

Welcoming the new CGM J&K P Balachandran and Manager BB Mohanty, Dorjey Motup stressed on proper implementation of work for the benefit of the farmers and producers through timely release of funds for their proper implementation. 

He further stressed on a successful and exemplary implementation of the project and assured all support from the council.
 
Talking about the problem with the meager annual fund allocation of ₹12 crore he urged the CGM to extend it in order to achieve more productive results through NABARD schemes. 

Dorjey Motup appreciated the grants in aid under Tribal Development Fund and Rural Infrastructure Promotion Fund by NABARD for LFPCL. This kind of twin funding scheme is first of its kind in the whole of the country because of credibility and short cultivation period in the Ladakh region. He urged early release of the remaining funds for further procurement of machines and materials. 

P Balachandran briefed about the functions of NABARD and expressed satisfaction over the work of the project. He said that the government is committed to the development of wastelands. 

Appreciating the inception and implementation of LFPCL project he said that if done with full dedication it will be a boon for the villagers.

Tsering Wangdus, EC Agriculture, Padmashree awardee Tsewang Norphel, Chairman LFPCL, M L Mattoo, CEO LFPCL, P. Balachandran, Chief General Manager J&K Regional Office NABARD, B. B. Mohanty, District Development Manager (R) Leh Tsering Norboo, Nambardar Ranbirpur Thiksay, SK Pandita, Superintendent Engineer PWD and other officials were present in the meeting.
