Ladakh athletes gear up for National School Games through UT-level trials

The Department of Youth Services and Sports, Kargil, conducted a two-day selection trial for Taekwondo, Karate, Boxing, and Thang-Ta Martial Arts for the upcoming 69th National School Games at the SAI Training Centre, Kargil, on September 22.
The UT-level trials aimed to identify the best athletes to represent Ladakh at the national-level competitions under the National School Games 2025-26.
The event was attended by Mohd Hassan (PEM, I/C Activities DYSSO Kargil), Mohd Ibrahim (PEM, I/C ZPEO Kargil), Director SAI Centre Kargil Ghulam Mustafa, Taekwondo Coach Mohd Ali, and other technical officials from the Youth Services & Sports Department and SAI Centre Kargil.
On the first day, 50 boys and girls participated in Taekwondo, while 45 boys and girls took part in Boxing and Karate trials from various schools across the Union Territory of Ladakh. The athletes were assessed on their skills and performance to qualify for the national-level Martial Arts competitions.
