Kashmir University VC attends annual day in satellite campus Kargil

During a visit to Kargil district, Prof Talat Ahmad, VC, Kashmir University attended the first annual day of the Kashmir University Satellite campus, Kargil on November 3.

Feroze Khan, CEC, Kargil and Executive Councillors welcomed VC and his team.

Dr. Tanveer A Shah, Joint Registrar, KU, Farooq Ahmad Mir, Controller of Examination, M A Sakaf, Dean Academic Affairs, M S Sumbli, Rector were also present.

VC, Prof Talat Ahmad assured to start integrated 5 years courses (3 years Graduation 2 years Masters) in Earth science and other important courses.

He said that Earth Science will include Geology, Geography, and Environment Science and students will even have the provision to leave the course after completing three years of graduation if they wish to move out of Ladakh for Master’s Degree.

He further informed that selective Master courses relevant to the area will also be developed depending on new positions for which he urged Hill Council and local authority to follow up with higher authorities at the state level. He informed that the courses have been formulated and shall be implemented soon.

Feroze Khan, CEC said, “Today VC and his team fulfilled their promise and despite harsh weather condition they are in Kargil to attend the annual day”.

He further highlighted the grievances of the student community and appealed VC to redress the guanine demands of the students of Kargil district.

Prof Talat Ahmad also visited Hawza -e -ilmia Isna Ashariya and the Islamic library.
