Kacho Ahmad Ali Khan tours Barsoo block Reviews pace of work on development projects

Kacho Ahmad Ali Khan, CEC, Kargil took stock of the pace of the ongoing developmental works in Barsoo block on May 10.

Kacho Ahmad Ali Khan inquired about the progress of the widening and up gradation of 18 kilometers long, Barsoo Itchoo Road under CRF at a cost of ₹22 crores and construction of Link Road Shispur Phase-I at a cost of₹1 crores under District Plan.

The concerned engineers informed that work on Barsoo Itchoo Project has been completed up to Shargandig and the project is expected to be completed next year. He directed the concerned to ensure completion of remaining works within stipulated time period while taking due care of the quality parameters.

The locals demanded for the release of land, house and tree compensation relating to the road projects. He issued on spot directions to the revenue officers to clear the pending compensation cases for timely payments of compensation to the locals.

Addressing the people, Kacho Ahmad Ali Khan said that the Hill Council is fully conscious of the developmental needs of the people of the far-flung areas and all efforts are being made to provide necessary facilities to people at their doorsteps.

He urged upon the officers to work with enthusiasm to provide basic amenities to the people.

Advocate Muhammad Amir, EC Education, Vikas Kundal, DC, Muhammad Ismail, Councillor, Barsoo, Ghulam Raza, former MLA Zanskar besides several officers of the District Administration Kargil and Sub Divisional Administration Sankoo accompanied.

Kacho Ahmad Ali Khan also visited Khandi village where he took stock of the construction of 1.5 MW Mini Hydel Project. 

The engineers of Kargil Renewable Energy Development Agency (KREDA) informed the work on the project is in full swing and around 60% work has been completed.  The project is expected to be commissioned by November this year. The operation of the Hydel project would provide electricity to all villages of Barsoo Nallah besides Sankoo and Sangrah areas.

He also visited Government Higher Secondary School, Barsoo and took stock of infrastructural and educational facilities. 

He assured full support for the redressal of various issues faced by the school. The teachers were directed to work with missionary zeal so as to improve the education standard in the area.
