ITBP launches mobile canteen, dispensary at Hanley

For the benefit of the people of Changthang, a mobile canteen and mobile dispensary was inaugurated by R.K Pachnanda, DG ITBP on October 1.

RK Pachnanda assured every possible help for the people living in the border areas who are the first line of defence. He also informed the people that ITBP is organising a Bharat Darshan tour for the students of the region to visit various historical places and coastal areas so that they can learn about rich culture and history of the country.

The villagers of Hanley urges DG ITBP to give special concession to the youth of region interested in joining ITBP as HIMVEERs in the force in terms of educational qualification and other parameters. He assured them of all possible help within the permissible parameters.

Dr. H.D Mohanty IG Medical, Arvind Kumar IG North-West Frontier, M.K Singh DIG Srinagar and Tashi Namgyal Commandant 37 Bn ITBP were also present on the occasion.
On the same day, a cleanliness drive was also conducted at Stakmo village under Swachhta Hi Seva. The drive was carried out from September 15 to October 2.

Tashi Namgyal, Commandant, 37 Battalion ITBP said, “Cleanliness is a habit which comes only with conscious practice.”

Giving impetus to PM’s Swachhta Hi Seva, he informed that 37 Battalion, ITBP regularly undertakes cleanliness drives across the nearby village. The thrust of activities pertaining to cleanliness majorly centered in and around Stakmo villages.

Azad Singh, Assistant Commandant, Prashant Kumar, Subedar Major and more than 140 jawans of ITBP and villagers of Stakmo participated in the cleaning drive.
