Hill Council, Kargil, reviews work on various projects for timely completion

A review meeting to take stock of the pace of work on various developmental projects was convened by Hill Council, Kargil on May 17.

In the meeting, various issues were discussed including the issue of the physical and financial status of the additional funds of ₹ 12 crores allotted for the execution of various developmental activities in the district, construction of 200 bedded hospital, status of works under AMRUT scheme, LAHDC Secretariat and Girls Hostel at Jammu, introduction of Arabic and Purgi language in schools and the engagement of Masters and Teachers on a contractual basis during the current academic year.

Kacho Ahmad Ali Khan, CEC took stock of the implementation of detachment orders of the employees in Education Department, allotment of land in favor of the tin shed owners at Kurbathang, constitution of a committee to put checks on dumping of debris along roadsides, construction of Kargil Sarai at Dwarka, New Delhi and other issues.

It was informed that work on the 200 bedded hospital at Kurbathang is an under execution at a cost of ₹ 3 crores. Underling the importance of the project, Kacho Ahmad Ali Khan said that the completion of the hospital infrastructure will go a long way in lessening the burden of patients on the existing district hospital. He stressed upon the concerned to ensure completion of the project well within the stipulated period.

He informed that for the introduction of Purgi language in schools, induction training is being conducted in near future.

A direction was given to constitute a committee of EC Education, Chief Education Officer and Principal DIET, Kargil to devise the syllabus for Arabic and Purgi teaching.
 
To overcome the shortage of teaching staff, he directed the immediate conduct of interviews for the post of masters and teachers on a contractual basis during the current academic year.

He also issued directions for necessary appraisal of the master plan for Kargil town, completion of the remaining works on the new Council Secretariat, repair and restoration works of the canal at Haftal Hydel Project Zanskar and arrangement of irrigational facilities in drought-affected areas.
