Gyal P Wangyal reviews roads sanction work under PMGSY

The status of 7 major roads worth ₹129.50 Cr along with all other roads sanctioned under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) was reviewed by Gyal P. Wangyal, Deputy Chairman on December 13.

The 7 major roads were sanctioned under PMGSY 12th Phase in the month of June 2018.

Tashi Chombel, SE PMGSY apprised Gyal P Wangyal that the contract has already been allotted for the 36 km Maan Pangong-Khakted road worth ₹36 Cr and work will start in the month of April 2019. Likewise, the contract allotment for 28 km Likir –Hemis road (₹ 27 Cr), 30 km Mahey-Korzok road worth ₹ 26 Cr and 11 km Stok Circular road worth ₹ 12 Cr was also issued. 

He further added that work on 20 km Domkhar Dho to Domkhar Gongma for ₹ 16 Cr and 7 km Kungyam road for ₹ 5 Cr has already started.  The 4 km Sharnos to Shara road worth ₹3.61Cr is in the tendering process.

Tashi Chombel also informed that for the first time 10 % plastic waste will be used in macadamization of Stok circular road keeping in mind the multiple benefits of it.  Also, Lingshed village is expected to connect with PMGSY road by June 2019. 

Discussion about all the completed and pending old roads under PMGSY in Leh district was carried out.
