Middle school Gya celebrated Parent’s day and enrolment drive cum community mobilization programme under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan of Kharu block on November 22.
Gyal P. Wangyal, Deputy Chairman, LAHDC, Leh, chief guest urged all the stakeholders for strengthening govt. schools in Gya-Meru area. He assured every support from Council and added that without the active support of parents and VEC members, Govt. schools could not be strengthened.
Regarding a merging of High School with Middle School, Gya because of less enrolment in High School Gya, he directed ZEO Kharu, Head Mistresses, High School Gya and Headmaster Middle School, Gya to take all the people representatives in confidence and complete paper works for clubbing both the schools.
Regarding the proposed sponsored educational tour of about seventeen students and five teachers of M/S Gya to France in May 2019 which required permission from higher authorities, he assured to take up the matter at State level strongly so that students could not miss this golden opportunity.
He also assured to provide sports equipment in coming months and to address all the problems of schools priority wise including drinking water problem.
Tsering Namgyal, ZEO, Kharu also appealed parents to strengthen Govt. schools.
