District administration, Kargil gears for Measles Rubella vaccination campaign

District Task Force Committee meeting for the routine immunization (DTFI) for Measles Rubella (MR) vaccination campaign was convened by Vikas Kundal, DC also Chairman, District Task Force on July 6 in Kargil.

The vaccination campaign is to be held in September and October 2018 in the district.

Issues in planning, reporting, communication, elimination strategies and other key aspects of the MR vaccination campaign in the district were discussed.

Vikas Kundal called upon all the line departments, educational institutions besides other stakeholders and organizations to extend their full cooperation and support within their respective areas to ensure successful conduct of the campaign.
 
He highlighted the importance of acquiring complete knowledge about Measles-Rubella, the disease profile and definition, geographical distribution of measles, preventive measures and technical knowledge on how to inject Measles-Rubella vaccine. And asked the concerned to put all the required and timely measures in place. 

He further instructed the officers of Education and ICDS to furnish the list of students to the Health Department well in advance so that no children are left without vaccination. Also asked training to the required personnel to ensure the hassle-free conduct of vaccination campaign.  

Chief Medical Officer informed that the district level trainers have already received training at the State level while in various blocks training will be imparted shortly by state and the national level trainers who are visiting the district.

Meanwhile, Vikas Kundal also enquired about the arrangements pertaining to the draft micro planning, mobilization and promotional activities and mega-camp in connection with the celebration of World Population Fortnight from July 11 to 25 and National De-worming Day (NDD) on August 10, 2018, in the district.
