The Director, Health Services, UT Ladakh, accompanied by the Statistical Officer (Planning), State Programme Manager (Ayush), Consultant (Ayush), and the Personal Assistant to the Director, conducted a three-day comprehensive tour of the Nyoma Sub-Division from October 18, 2025, with a special focus on the Vibrant Villages initiative.

The primary objective of the visit was to review and inspect infrastructural developments at various Ayushman Arogya Mandirs and the Community Health Centre (CHC), Nyoma, implemented under the Special Development Package (SDP), Vibrant Village Programme, and the District Capex Budget.

During the inspection, Dr. Thinlas, Director, Health Services, expressed satisfaction with the progress of construction works, particularly the four sets of staff quarters being developed at different centres. However, the team noted that roof treatment work had not been carried out in any of the quarters and emphasized the need for immediate rectification.

The Director also distributed oxygen concentrators to various health centres located in Vibrant Villages.

While interacting with healthcare staff and local representatives at different centres, the team assured that genuine issues—such as the provision of staff quarters, internet connectivity, electricity, and water supply—would be taken up with the concerned authorities for timely resolution.

The team further expressed deep concern over the condition of the two staff quarters under construction for the Medical Centre, Korzok, funded through the District Capex Budget. Despite being near completion, the structure was found to be in a deplorable and unsafe conditionfor occupation.

The Directorate has taken note of all observations and has assured that appropriate action will be initiated to ensure quality infrastructure and a conducive working environment for healthcare personnel in the region.
