DC Leh reviews PM Gati Shakti implementation, stresses user-friendly platform

A meeting on PM Gati Shakti was convened under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Leh, Romil Singh Donk, IAS, in the VC Room of the DC Office on September 22.
The meeting was attended by Tsewang Gyalson, Chief Planning Officer; Imran Khan, Executive Engineer (Construction); and Dorjay Gyatso, Superintending Engineer (PWD).
During the session, Phuntsog Angmo from Team Ladakh PMU, PM Gati Shakti UT Ladakh, delivered a detailed presentation on the initiative’s objectives and functionalities. She explained that PM Gati Shakti is an integrated, GIS-based digital platform offering a single-window solution for infrastructure planning and monitoring, allowing stakeholders to access developmental data and project status in real time.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the importance of keeping the platform simple and user-friendly, stating that technology should facilitate work rather than complicate it. He called for regular uploads of project photographs and details, and suggested introducing a color-coded system for easier tracking.
The presentation highlighted advanced features such as dynamic updates, real-time geo-tagging, mapping, and layering for workflow tracking. It was noted that the platform, powered by BISAG-N’s GIS-based system, enables the creation of a dynamic master plan for integrated infrastructure development, adaptable at both state and district levels for data-driven planning.
Discussions also covered BISAG-N’s support in uploading and editing project data through a maker-checker mechanism, ensuring verification and accuracy. Additionally, the platform’s satellite imagery provides a map interface similar to Google Maps, enhancing transparency and accountability.
The meeting concluded with the DC urging timely updates, accurate data reporting, and the effective use of technology to ensure the success of projects under the PM Gati Shakti initiative.
