DC Leh addresses demands of Nubra valley

Sachin Kumar Vaishya, Deputy Commissioner, Leh asses’ developmental progress and implementation of various schemes in Nubra valley. 
 
He addressed people of Khardong village on October 21 where people demanded a mobile tower.
 
At Diskit, Nambardars of various villages put forth the demands of respective villages. People of Diskit strongly demanded two hours extension in the duration of power supply in the evening. They also urged the deployment of a water tanker during winter months. 
 
Nambardar of Khyungroo demanded a permanent scheme of drinking water supply in the area and also requested to assist Women’s Self Help Groups for income generation.

Nambardar of Hundar demanded repair of village internal link road and installation of a bridge over Hunder Tokpo at Laksosa place. The demands of other Nambardars include water hand pump for Udmaroo, Medical sub-center at Skuru, irrigation water lifting system at Skampuk, communication facility for Waris, link road and medical sub-center for Fastan. 
 
The villagers of Bogdang demanded the opening of a degree college, water tanker and extension of power supply duration. Turtuk demanded the establishment of Sub Divisional Headquarter at Turtuk, opening of a new polling station and Cooperative marketing facility.
 
Sachin Kumar gave full assurance to fulfill their genuine demands at the earliest and also gave on spot directions to the concerned officers to immediately address people's needs of important nature. He also assured to provide a V-set for Waris and extension of power supply duration to places where the demand was raised.
 
Sachin Kumar also visited villages in Siachen belt to learn about the development works and public issues.
 
He interacted with the village Nambardar and listened to all their problems and grievances. He gave assurance to look into the issues and try to address their demands on priority at the earliest possible. 
 
He also visited Govt. Higher Secondary School, Sumoor and interacted with the teachers and students to get first-hand information about the functionality, facilities, and standard of the school. 
 
Sonam Norbu, SDM Nubra, and other Sub Divisional level officers were also present during the tour.
