Congress Planning and Policy group, J&K, meets delegations in Kargil

Congress planning and policy group led by P. Chidambaram, Former Home Minister met more than 10 delegations on July 8 in Kargil. He was accompanied by senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad, Ghulam Ahmad Mir and Tariq Hamid Karra.

The deputations included Ladakh Autonomous Hill Council Kargil, Bar Association Kargil, Ahli Sunnat Wal Jamaat, Buddhist Association of Kargil, Sikh Minority, Hindu Minority, Merchant Association, EJAC Kargil, Imam Khomeini Memorial Trust, DCC Kargil, Zanskar Sub Division and various others apprised their issues and submitted the memorandum.
 
Discussion on the current situation in the state particularly in the valley was carried out. The delegation appealed congress leaders to play their role in normalising the situation. 

Talking to the media Asgar Karbalai, MLA Kargil said that the people of Kargil are against the trifurcation and need a peaceful settlement of current turmoil in Kashmir.
Alleging BJP he said that the ruling government has pushed the state of Jammu and Kashmir into a tough situation. By pulling out from the coalition BJP has expressed its failure in tackling the situation of the state.

A delegation of media fraternity led by Syed Hashim Rezavi also met and discussed the various policy-related matters.
