Chamshen hosts 8th Siachen Folk festival showcasing local heritage

The 8th Siachen Folk Festival was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Chamshen, Nubra, on September 21.
The festival, jointly organized by Chamskyong Chostsog Tsogspa and the Himalayan Cultural Heritage Foundation, highlighted the rich cultural traditions and folk heritage of the region, drawing participation from locals and dignitaries alike.
Executive Councillor Stanzin Chosphel graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Councillor of Tegar Rigzin Lhundup, Councillor of Panamik Tsering Sandup, and former MLA of Nubra Deldan Namgyail attended as Guests of Honour. Several Heads of Departments and other distinguished guests were also present, adding significance to the event.
The festival featured a diverse program, including a traditional archery tournament, cultural performances, and food stalls set up by the Chamshen village community, showcasing the artistry, heritage, and vibrant community spirit of Nubra.
