CEC Rigzin Spalbar on 6 day tour to Changthang

Starting his six day extensive tour to Changthang region on 28 April,  CEC, Rigzin Spalbar  on the first day today visited the villages of Rong-Chhurgyud that include Liktse, Tukla, Tarchit, Khatpu, Himya, Kyungyam, Tiri-do, Kumdok and Kairey. CEC is accompanied by the Executive Councilor, Animal and Sheep Husbandry, Gyurmet Dorje, Executive Councilor Health, Dr. Sonam Wangchuk, Councilor Kyungyam Dorje Motup and a team of district officers and Engineers.

CEC’s tour of Changthang is aimed at bringing pace in all the developmental projects right from the beginning of working season keeping in mind that Changthang has comparatively shorter working period. The other objective of CEC’s tour was to see the implementation of public works which the CEC during his previous tour issued instructions to various executing agencies at various places.

At High School Liktse, CEC inaugurated a Computer Room and a Science Laboratory room which were constructed under district plan. It was found that H/S Liktse is lacking Urdu and Science teachers and demand was raised to fill up these vacant posts considering the student’s career. For the convenient of the students of adjacent villages and to get them a well suited educational environment for quality education, Dorje Motup on behalf of the people of Rong-Chhurgyud demanded for opening a Hostel at H/S Liktse. CEC also inaugurated the newly sanctioned Medical Sub Centre at Tukla-Fulak and congratulated the people of this remote village for fulfilling their long standing demand.
Responding to the people’s demand of opening of sheep and animal centres at number of places, CEC instructed to the Sheep and Animal Husbandry departments to cover the animals of   these villages in a rationalized way and ensure that no animal is left without necessary treatment and important anti disease doses.

Rigzin Spalbar also enquired with people about the availability of medicines in their medical centres and Ration at Food stores. He instructed the concerned officers to ensure stocking of sufficient volume of important nature of medicines at all the medical centre in rural areas. Commenting on an issue of ration, CEC urged the people of take their monthly ration by weighing only saying that doing weigh of ration is the fundamental right of the people.
Some other issues such as early installation of BSNL tower at Himya, early completion of Receiving Power Station at Himya, land compensation cases with BRO, replacement of rotten wooden electric poles, permanent restoration of some of irrigation canals also came to light on CEC’s first day tour and he assured the people to take up the cases with concerned authorities very soon and also issued on spot instruction to the officers to do the needful which are at LAHDC’s level.

Addressing the people at these villages, CEC expressed satisfaction that most of the public works for which he had ordered to different departments during his last tour have witnessed completed. He said that his tour along with ECs and HODs to this area is like that of Govt. itself come at their doorsteps to see their demands and fulfil them.
At all places the Councilor area Dorje Motup apprised the CEC about the progress of developmental works and also put forth the new demands of the people giving justification on the genuineness of the demands.
