CEC inaugurates medical sub-centre at zero borders at Kakjung and Demjok

On the fourth day of his visit to Changthang Sub-division the Chief Executive Councilor, LAHDC Leh Rigzin Spalbar along with Executive Councilors Health Dr. Sonam Wangchuk and Animal & Sheep Husbandry Gyurmet Dorjey, Councilor Chushul Namgyal Phuntsog and a team of district officers and engineers visited Chushul, Merak, Spangmik, Lukung, Yourgo, Phobrang, Mukleb and Tangtse villages on 01 May.

He inaugurated a 2-set staff quarter at Primary Health Centre Chushul constructed under NRHM by PWD department at worth Rs. 23.63 lakhs and an X-ray room under BADP at a cost of Rs. 11.21 lakhs; an anganwadi centre at Chushul-buk under MSDP at a cost of Rs. 6.50 lakhs; 4 dormitories, recreation hall, warden quarter and a toilet block under MSDP at a cost of Rs. 96.29 lakhs; a 6-metre span RCC culvert at Chushul at Gonpa road under BADP worth Rs. 22.38 lakhs; a 5 metre span RCC culvert at link road to buk-Chushul under BADP at a cost of Rs. 30.46 lakhs; guest house under CCDF at a cost of Rs. 9.83 lakhs and a staff quarter at Lukhung under education circle of BADP at a cost of Rs. 5 lakhs.

On April 30, CEC also inaugurated the newly sanctioned medical sub-centre at zero borders at Kakjung and Demjok.

At Chushul, SDM N.D. Sharma also joined CEC and his team. Here the Councillors & Sarpanches kept their demands for opening up of a J&K Bank branch, efficient teachers at Higher Secondary School, LPG gas service centre and animal centre amongst other demands in front of CEC.

CEC addressing the gathering of public at Chushul stressed on the basic importance of giving good quality education to their children and briefed in detail about the benefits to students from recently signed MoU with KC Welfare Trust for professional and general courses free of cost.

CEC expressed happiness that Chushul has developed to a good extent during the last four & half years in terms of power, phone connectivity etc.  CEC also inspected the Primary Health Centre of Chushul.

Talking about the difficulties faced at labour front with BRO, CEC said that the issue was discussed with DGBR and they have assured preferences to Ladakhis including the ladies. For this, the villagers should come forward to apply for the job and agree upon for far away postings, said CEC.

Introducing the first SDM of Tangtse Subdivision as the administrative head, CEC welcomed him on behalf of the villagers and further giving directions to him said that the great responsibility of laying strong foundation now rests upon his shoulders.

At Spangmik, talking about the land issue at Spangmik, CEC instructed SDM to find out a convenient solution as per the law.

On the direction of CEC, the medical sub-centre that was functioning at the Community Hall at Spangmik was on spot shifted to the vacant laying Primary School building. In view of increased populace especially during summers, CEC urged upon them to strengthen the medical facilities to cater to the villagers as well as to the visiting tourists.  
 At other places like Merak, Mann and Yourgo, villagers kept their demands and grievances in front to which CEC gave a patience hearing and assured early redress of all the possible issues. In this regard, CEC also gave on spot directions to the concerned officers.

At Tsaga, Councilor Nyoma, Thupstan Wangchuk thanked CEC and the district officers for their visit and expressed hope for speedy redress in development related issues of Nyoma Constituency.

CEC and his team also visited villages of Barma, Khera Pullu, Sato, Chibra, Erat, Chilam, Pholongley, Shachukul and Tharuk.
