Bakula Rinpoche Educational Campaign concludes

The week long Bakula Rinpoche Education Campaign concluded at Deskit-Tsal Housing Colony on 23 April.
 
The main objective of the campaign is re-opening of closed schools, picking up of pass percentage, increasing the tendency of enrolment and excelling at interschool level competitions by the students are the live example of improving trend of education system in Govt. schools in Leh district, which has achieved with collective efforts of Council, education department, teaching fraternity, VECs, pubic representatives and parents during the past four years.

The function was started by lighting of traditional lamp by the Chief Guest Rigzin Spalbar, Chief Executive Councilor LAHDC, Leh; Sonam Dorjay, Executive Councillor Agriculture, Sonam Wangchok, EC Health, Mohd Shafi Lassu, EC Higher Education, Gurmat Dorjay, EC Animal Husbandry, Kunzes Dolma, DEPO, Education Department Leh, Tsewang Phuntsog, CEO Education Department Leh, Deachen Tsomo, Deputy Chief Education Officer Leh and teachers of the various school and College lecturers were present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, Rigzin Spalbar, Chief Executive Councillor said that as many as 500 needy Ladakhi students could get entrance to Post Matric Scholarship, under-graduate and post-graduate courses through KC Groups of Institution with provision of basic coaching in final for Civil Service exams benefiting full sponsorship from Govt. of India’s scheme. He said that the time has really come for the deprived Ladakhi students to gain such benefit and achieve their dreams. He further added that this institution  has accepted the proposal of Leh Hill Council to accommodate at least 50 best students annually with free education and coaching in important professional fields like medical, engineering, managements, NDA, hospitality etc.
 
Sonam Dorjay, EC Agriculture presented the feedback of Education campaign of Khalatse and Saspol zone. He said that the Middle school Nurla was closed few years ago, but now this school is reopened again, as the people of this village are aware of its importance. Presently, this Govt. school is running smoothly. The education facility in Saspol village has also improved.The strength of the students is also increasing year after year which shows good performance. He also added that the students from this zone also participated in Sports such as Archery and the Ice Hockey in which they reached at National level and they were encouraged with the prizes.

Dr. Sonam Wangchuk, EC, Health highlighted on the Education campaign of Nubra zone by thanking on the behalf of all the Nubra people to Rigzin Spalbar, CEC Leh and all the Education Department Officer, Leh for providing them all assistance for  their needs  and  improvement in Education field. He felt honour for arranging such campaign through which students are developing their skills and are also showing keen interest to participate in such effective and fun full co- curricular activities. He also requested for the fulfillment of required teacher of 52 seats in Nubra valley.

Gurmat Dorjay, EC Animal Husbandry expressed on the behalf of Nyoma and Durbuk block. He praised for organizing such a beneficial Education campaign in Leh District. He also requested for the better electricity for the school, department staff quarter and problems related to the scarcity of water in the same area. 

He said that the post of Head Assistant and Junior Assistant needed to be filled in Hr. Sec. School Nyoma and demanded Computer Teacher. 
Mohd. Shafi Lassu, EC Hr. Education gave a presentation of Educational Campaign of Kharu and Chuchot Zone. He gave importance to the adjustment of teacher at the Zonal level as per requirements, replacement of teacher during maternity leave time so that the students do not suffer due to lack of teacher, availability of water supply in schools, building of Examination Hall in every school and specially interaction between Govt. and Private School via debate, discussion and Science Exhibition which is demanded by School Representative.

On this occasion, the CEO, Tsewang Phuntsog, gave a brief summery on the basic concept of weeklong KG Bakula education campaign. Besides, Education and Planning Officer Kunzes Dolma also threw lights on the educational schemes.

The programme was concluded with a vote of thanks by Deachen Tsomo, Education Department Deputy CEO.
