Awareness-cum-training programme on adoption regulation held in Leh
 
           The District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), Leh organized an Awareness-cum-Training Programme on Adoption Regulation and its Procedures on October 30.
The session was facilitated by Sonam Chosdon, Program Manager, State Adoption Resource Agency (SARA), who served as the resource person. Through an informative PowerPoint presentation, she elaborated on various aspects of the Adoption Regulation, including the step-by-step adoption procedure, the legal framework governing it, and the process of registering as Prospective Adoptive Parents (PAPs) on the CARA portal.
Key participants included officials from the Health Department, the District ASHA Coordinator, ASHA workers, the Chairperson and Member of the Child Welfare Committee (CWC), as well as staff members from the DCPU, Child Helpline, and Specialized Adoption Agency (SAA).
Following the presentation, a CWC Member provided detailed insights into the Committee’s role and responsibilities in the adoption process, highlighting the need for coordinated efforts among all stakeholders to ensure the best interests of the child.
District Child Protection Officer expressed gratitude to the resource person and participants for their active engagement and valuable contributions in making the session meaningful and informative.
